Using Browser Preview in FrontPage

The Browser Preview in FrontPage lets you both preview in different browsers and at different screen sizes. FP2000/2002 and FP2003 have slightly different ways of setting this up but the effect is exactly the same. It's important to test in as many browsers as possible, and these settings make the job a lot easier.

For FP2000/2002 start with 'File - Preview in Browser', this brings up a dialog box:

FP2003 work a little differently, and has added functionality.

Start with 'File - Preview in Browser - Edit Browser List'.

From here you can add new browsers to your available list and select the browser size you wish to use. Both the browser and size are fixed until you next change the selection, and will be used when you hit the Preview icon on the top toolbar.

This dialog box lets you set up new browsers and set the sizes you wish to use with them. Close this list when you've finished adding to it.

If you just hit the Preview icon itself, you will get the combination you last used, but now you will have a drop-down list to the right hand side of the Preview icon on the toolbar. This lets you select a browser/size combination to use - or you can preview in multiple browsers at once.

Powerful!
