Challenge:
The Component Obsolescence Group, a cross-industry association with an international membership, had an existing website that had grown to a size that was difficult to manage. Control of the content was spread between different individuals, but passed to a single editing point, adding to the management problems.
Solution:
We created a database driven site and provided on-line content management facilities where different sections of the site could be given to the relevant people. An existing membership database was incorporated, saving duplication of data.
The site has since been expanded to include:
- On-line registration and payment for events
- A secure On-line Bookshop for publications, CD's etc.
- A section where specific members can edit their own sub-pages online with full formatting capabilities
- Full search facilities, both for static pages and database content.
- An Email ListServer.
- A diary with clickable links that add events straight into Outlook and other Calendar applications
